Patek Philippe Nautilus 5711 “The Pearl Project” Replica – 40mm Steel, Skeleton Dial, Carbon-Fiber Bezel, TP2652 Movement & 316L Bracelet
The TP2652 as Part of the Visual Architecture
Movement TP2652 is a skeleton integrated movement that is completely visible through the sapphire crystal. The construction of the movement is used not as something to conceal but rather as a main part of the watch’s design.
A typical configuration of the three hand watches is used: hour, minute, and central second hands are placed on top of the mechanical structure of the movement. To ensure proper functioning of the watch, it is recommended to protect it from shocks, magnetic fields, and moisture exposure.
- Movement: TP2652 integrated movement
- Functions: Hours, minutes and central seconds
- Display: Three-hand layout over an exposed mechanical structure
A 40mm Steel Case Built Around the Nautilus Profile
The stainless-steel case measuring 40mm still follows the wide, rounded octagon design that was originally developed for the Nautilus range of timepieces. The brushed upper surface emphasizes the horizontal aspect of the case while the polished surfaces offer controlled reflections on the flanks and bracelet joinery.
This contrasts with the cold, metallic case construction along with the dark carbon fiber bezel and openworked mechanism.
- Case Diameter: 40mm
- Case Material: Stainless steel
- Case Shape: Rounded-octagonal sports-watch profile
- Finishing: Brushed surfaces with polished transitions
An Openworked Dial with Mechanical Depth
The skeletonized dial exposes the movement in almost its entirety on the front side of the watch. The dark components, visible gears and rose-gold colored components provide multiple levels of depth below the hands.
The matte brushed finish of the edges prevents any glare in the open sections of the watch. The rose-gold colored hour markers contrast well against the dark mechanical structure, while the outer minute markers help read the time.
- Dial Style: Fully skeletonized mechanical display
- Surface Character: Dark openworked structure with matte brushed edges
- Hour Markers: Applied rose-gold-tone markers
- Scale: Contrasting peripheral minute track
- Visual Effect: Exposed bridges, gears and movement components
Carbon Fiber Framing the Open Movement
Carbon fiber is used to make the octagonal shaped bezel, which results in having a marbled design in the bezel. The irregular grain makes every portion look somewhat unique in relation to light and angle.
Its dark color makes it very clear where the mechanism ends and where the case starts. It is also very durable but it is still recommended to avoid any contact with rough surfaces.
- Bezel Material: Carbon fiber
- Shape: Rounded octagonal
- Surface: Layered marbled grain
- Design Role: Dark frame contrasting with the steel case and rose-gold-tone details
An Integrated Bracelet with a Fluid Steel Finish
The integrated bracelet is made out of 316L stainless steel and flows seamlessly into the case as there is no traditional gap between the lugs and first links. The articulated design of the bracelet helps it move along with the wrist and distribute the weight of the 40mm case.
The brushed surface of the steel creates the structure of the bracelet, and the polished parts add accents to the structure. Correct sizing is crucial for comfort and stability due to the big size of the case and bracelet design.
- Bracelet Material: 316L stainless steel
- Construction: Integrated articulated metal bracelet
- Finishing: Brushed and polished surfaces
- Wearing Character: Broad, balanced and close to the wrist

Buyer Questions About Materials, Readability and Care
Is this carbon fiber bezel the same as the one on the custom project?
This variant features a carbon fiber bezel which has been made to reproduce the dark layer look of the custom project. It cannot be said that it has the same carbon grade and production process.
Is the skeleton dial easy to read?
The rose gold tone markings and clear minute track around the outer perimeter increase the visibility of the dial against the dark movement. Yet, an openworked dial is obviously a complicated one in terms of visual perception.
How does the 40mm case look on the wrist?
The size of 40mm provides this sports watch with a nice proportion. It has a substantial presence thanks to the wide case form and an articulated integrated bracelet makes it sit on the wrist securely.
How can I take care of the movement and carbon fiber bezel?
The watch must be protected from shocks, magnetic fields, abrasives and aggressive substances. It is advisable to clean the case, bracelet and bezel with a dry microfiber cloth and brush. The 30m rating is not permission to swim or shower.
